Winful Cobbinah is a Ghanaian footballer born on the 6th of September 1991 in Accra.
He is an attacking midfielder who plays for Accra Hearts of oak.
Cobbinah upon his arrival under former Hearts Coach CK Akunnor in summer 2012 struggled with 'life at a big club' joining Hearts from Division One side Starke FC.
He, however, enjoyed a breakthrough season in his second year when Coach David Duncan (another ex-Hearts gaffer) took over and boosted his confidence.
Coupled with his exciting display, he managed to score six leagues goals for the Phobians during the 2013/14 season.
His encouraging performances saw Hearts transfer him to Saudi Arabian side Najran SC after agreeing a $150,000 deal.
He terminated his contract with Najran in 2016 and explained the reason for the termination.
“The truth is I have terminated my contract with Al Najran because they failed to pay me, before joining them they made a lot of promise to me but they couldn’t fulfil those promise. So I have no other option than to terminate my contract,”
Cobbinah returned to Hearts of Oak in the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League season and played in 15 matches in the league where he scored four goals and provided 8 assists. The midfielder played in four FA Cup matches.
He was instrumental for the Local Black Stars who won the 2017 WAFU tournament in Ghana where he scored a wonder goal against Mali.
His scintillating performances have seen many likened him to Germany and Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil.
If reports are true, Hearts fans may not see the talented midfielder in their team next season as he is expected to complete a deal in the region of €75,000 to Danish side Viborg FF.
Enjoy some skills and goals from the gifted midfielder.
