Uganda captain Denis Onyango has announced his retirement from international football.
The Mamelodi Sundowns shot-stoper announced his decision in a letter sent to the Ugandan Football Federation.
The 35-year-old goalkeeper made his debut for the Cranes of Uganda on 18 June 2005 in a World Cup qualifying match against Cape Verde.
He went ahead to make 80 appearances in the Ugandan national team shirt.
He played an integral role in qualifying Uganda to the 2017 AFCON where he conceded only two goals in the qualifiers.
It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing my retirement from international football. After much consideration, my family, managers and I, decided it was in my best interest to hang my gloves on my beloved Cranes ???????? Big thanks to every Ugandan over the years. pic.twitter.com/vH6CRK4USR
