King Promise has stated in an interview with Sammy Kay on the “Go online show” that he feels like its misplace priority when you focus more on awards.
When asked about his expectations in this year’s VGMA, the “commando” hitmaker emphasized that, he is expecting nothing from VGMA because his focus is to make the fans happy, therefore seeing the fans happy and excited about his craft is more rewarding than any award could offer.
He later said if the awards come along the line he will take it and be grateful for it but he reiterated he does not work for awards.
King Promise was nominated in the Songwriter of the Year category at the 21st edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).
He is to defend the title this year after winning it with CCTV at the 20th edition. He beat competition from Fuse ODG – Bra Fie, Teephlow – Forgive, Akwaboah – Hye Me Bo, Trigmatic – Where We Dey Go and Stonebwoy – Tomorrow.
