The multimedia entertainment company, Zylofon Media has yet again signed a three-year record label contract with multiple award-winning dancehall artistes, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr. popularly known as Shatta Wale.
The concern growing on multiple social media platforms was the rationale behind the signing of the two dancehall maestros who are in strong competition.
CEO of Zylophone media, Nana Appiah Mensah responded by explaining it was a strategic move of removing the competition from amongst ourselves and taking it to a much bigger and global turf.
“The competition should not be in and among ourselves. It should be Ghana against the world. We are going to take them globally and let them portray our cultural value,” he added.
Why we signed Stonebwoy .
CEO of Zylofone media, Nana Appiah Mensah had said in 2016 that his company decided to sign Stonebwoy not because he was not only a good and marketable talent but because he understood the music is business.
Is Stonebwoy not enough to achieve the goals of the media house, or Is this a strategic move to cripple the music industry in Ghana.
He indicated also that if an artiste has an inherent talent and can give great music, it becomes a privilege to align oneself with such artiste knowing that whatever investment you make in such an artiste will not go down the drain and he sees Stonebwoy as such an artiste.
Artistes signed on the music label are Stonebwoy, Obibini, Kumi Guitar, Joyce Blessing and now Shatta Wale.
