The National Youth Wing of incumbent NPP has sent out a message of solidarity to all final year students who begin their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) today.

In all, over 468,000 students from about 15,000 schools are expected to sit for the 2017 BECE that commences on Monday 5th June 2017.

In a statement signed by the National Youth Organiser of the NPP, Sammy Awuku, he admonished the students to do their best to ensure they pass the examination.

Sammy Awuku also urged the candidates to abide by all rules and regulations of the examination to avoid any mishap.

“The Wing entreats all candidates to make a conscious effort to abide by all the rules and regulations associated with the conduct of this year’s examination,” the statement stated.

He also appealed to the West Africa Examination Council (W.A.E.C) to be diligent in the organisation of this year’s B.E.C.E.

He bemoaned the spate of examination leakages that had characterised previous examinations and the effects it has on students.

He advised W.A.E.C to do all it can to sustain its integrity as the B.E.C.E. commences today.

“We wish to make a passionate appeal to the West African Examination Council (W.A.E.C) to take all the necessary steps to ensure that the integrity and sanctity of this year’s examination is preserved to the fullest.

“W.A.E.C. has a responsibility to ensure that the perennial pain, inconvenience and psychological trauma inflicted on both parents and students as a result of its failure to observe best practices is avoided this year.” he remarked

The B.E.C.E is a common examination written by students at the end of their basic education. It is scheduled to end on Friday 9th June 2017.
