The Ghanaian woman has gone through changing roles over the years, and after several years of hard work, today, we see women rising to the top as CEOs, CFOs, CTOs and Board Members of organizations as well as becoming Entrepreneurs of Top Companies.
The National Women's Summit, billed as Ghana's Biggest Executive Women's Event was launched last year as a grand celebration of International Women's Day in Ghana, with the main objective of bringing together accomplished and successful women and younger women who aspire to be the next generation of women corporate and business leaders in Ghana.
The maiden edition in 2017, which turned out to be a colossal success was made up of a 1-Day Summit & Expo which featured prominent female CEOs from some of Ghana’s top companies speaking about their life stories and journey to the top, in a bid to encourage and motivate the teeming young executives, students and upcoming female entrepreneurs of SMEs who attended.
Over 1000 women attended the 1-Day conference, and for many of them, it was their first chance to get up close and personal with these top CEOs, to hear their personal stories and interact with them, which was a delight for them! They all departed, highly motivated to aim higher in their various fields of endeavour.
For the CEOs, they lauded this event initiative and were happy with the opportunity to give back to women by motivating the next generation of female leaders, with their personal stories of Hard work and Dedication in their rise to the top.
There was also an Expo of Female SMEs and businesses targeted at Women, so delegates got the chance to shop around throughout the course of the day.
In all it was a Great Day of Fellowship for Women, a truly befitting way of celebrating International Women's Day!
Following in the success of last year’s event, this year’s event the 2nd National Women's Summit & Expo combines a summit and business expo in a 2-day magical experience which will take place from 9th–10th March at the Accra International Conference Centre from 9am to 8pm daily.
