A former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Mr. Alex Mensah Mould has described the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led administration as underachieving despite the lofty promises it made to Ghanaians in the run-up to the 2016 polls.

He scored the current 3 out of 10 in terms of performance and it said does not look good comparing and contrasting with the expectations of Ghanaians upon assumption of office in 2017.

Speaking with Lexis Bill, the former National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Boss said “If you look at what the expectations are, the ordinary man or ordinary Ghanaian should be able to get jobs, have a livelihood, be able to send his children to school, be able to have health at a reasonable price and I think these are the shortfalls we have seen”

Mr. Mould disclosed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration is underachieving and rating them 3 on a scale of 1-10.

“If you are underachieving you definitely are below 5. If you are doing what is expected of you then you are around 5…if you are doing more than what is expected of you then you are above 5. I would give them a figure about 3 to 4”, he said.

On his take on the Town Hall meeting by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia he said “Many people who saw it felt it was a presentation that could have been much better…could explain things much better and could have given much confidence back to the people as to what exactly has been put in place so that this doesn’t recur. If you look at what is happening, generally there is a leadership gap. I think we need to be very honest with the people of the country as to what the challenges are, we need to be very open as to what we need to do to get out of these challenges and what it would take. If you are very open and honest, the people of Ghana will give you a chance. I don’t think he came across as explaining it very well to a lot of people”
