President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr Martin Kolbil Yamborigya as the Acting Commissioner of the Domestic Tax Revenue Division (DTRD) of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), effective Monday, November 17, 2025.

His appointment follows the retirement of Edward Appenteng Gyamera who served in that capacity for more than four years.

The announcement was contained in a statement released by the GRA on Friday, November 14, 2025.

"President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr Martin Kolbil Yamborigya as the

Acting Commissioner of the Domestic Tax Revenue Division (DTRD) of the Ghana

Revenue Authority (GRA), effective Monday, November 17, 2025.

"Dr Yamborigya assumes this position following the retirement of Mr Edward Apenteng Gyambrah", it noted.

Here is a brief profile of Dr Martin Kolbil Yamborigya:

Dr Yamborigya, widely recognized as a distinguished tax administrator and public finance expert, brings over 20 years of progressive experience in Ghana’s revenue administration.

His expertise spans domestic tax policy, compliance management, and revenue mobilization—areas in which he has been instrumental in driving the modernization and transformation of the GRA.

He has held several senior positions within the GRA, including Audit Team Leader for the Tax Audit Unit, Head of Audit at the Legon Medium Taxpayer Office, Head of Post Clearance Audit, and Head of Audit for Special Audits (Audit Factory).

Dr Yamborigya also served as Acting Assistant Commissioner at the Commissioner DTRD’s Secretariat and as Assistant Commissioner and Head of Tax Audit at the Large Taxpayer Office (LTO).
