Actor John Dumelo has received the nod to contest the 2020 parliamentary election on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
Mr Dumelo polled 758 votes to beat his contender Suzsie Afua Adoboe who had 99 votes.
In all, a total of 859 votes were cast with 2 declared rejected.
Mr Dumelo in his victory speech thanked the constituents for the confidence reposed in him.
He said it was now time for all to unite to wrestle the seat from the NPP.
He expressed congratulations to Ms Adoboe for putting up a good fight but noted that in every contest there was bound to be a winner and a loser.
He asked her to come onboard to execute the agenda of winning the seat for the NDC.
