Minister for Business Development, Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, says the Akufo-Addo-led government is committed to developing and supporting entrepreneurs in Ghana to reduce unemployment.

“We are willing to fund graduates from the various universities with business ideas because there are no jobs in Ghana and not everyone can get a public sector job so people cannot sit and wait for government,” he stated.

According to Dr Awal, the introduction of the presidential pitch and presidential business support flagship initiatives by the Akufo-Addo-led government are all aimed at realising government’s ambition of helping to unleash an entrepreneurial revolution in the country.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme, Tuesday, Dr Awal urged Ghanaian youth from 18-35 to take advantage of the initiative.

“We can no longer joke with unemployment issue in Ghana because it has become a national security issue so we want to empower the youth and graduates to be job creators,” he noted.

Some beneficiaries of the initiative; Matthew Mprem, Kwaku Agyei and Vanessa Aisha, disclosing the success of their business through the initiative, expressed their appreciation to the Akufo-Addo-led government for their intervention in growing their businesses.
