National Chairman of the National Democracy Congress, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has picked on the Akufo-Addo led administration for parking newly purchased ambulances at the forecourt of Parliament house whilst Ghanaians are losing their lives on roads through accidents.

His comment is on the back of the recent accident that occurred at Dompoase near Komenda in the Central Region where over 30 lives were claimed.

Several others who sustained severe injuries were also rushed to the Cape Coast Teaching and University of Cape Coast Hospitals to receive treatment.

According to Mr Ampofo, flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama wouldn’t sit aloof to watch people die when there are national ambulances available to help save lives of citizens when there's an emergency.

Addressing the public at the launch of an electronic payment platform to enable party members and sympathisers to contribute financially toward the party’s 2020 campaign in Accra on Thursday, January 16, 2020, the NDC National Chairman proclaimed that “the next president of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama will not display ambulances for four months in the open whilst precious lives are being lost. I’ve been told that if ambulances were available several of the lives that were lost in the recent accident would have been saved”.

He further alleged that “Nana Akufo-Addo is interested in more lives being lost” but there is the need for him to change from his ‘inhumane’ behaviour for the betterment of the nation.

The opposition NDC is, however, calling on the Akufo-Addo government to as a matter of urgency dispatch the parked ambulances to respective areas to save Ghanaians from dying.
