The Minority in Parliament have staged a walk out for the third time over the passage of the Public Holidays (Amendment) Bill, 2018.

There has been disagreements in the house concerning the need to make January 7, Constitution Day, and August 4 Public Holidays.

The Minority in Parliament disagreed to the proposal by President Akufo-Addo saying that Founder's Day, which marks the birthday of Ghana's first president Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah should not be treated as an ordinary day because he contributed greatly to securing the country for Ghanaians

The Minority further described the action by the Majority as tampering with the country's history.

Despite these arguments, the speaker of Parliament allowed the passage of the motion which was further approved by the Majority side, thus making the January 7 and August 4 official public holidays
