A former Minister of Finance under the erstwhile John Mahama administration, Seth Terkper says he is confident the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) government has the sheer will and ability to transform Ghana within four years.

He argues that the opposition party can boast of a strong track record regarding the implementation of transformative policies to boost socio-economic fortunes.

Addressing journalists in Accra on August 27, 2024, the former finance minister described the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, as a leader who possesses the necessary qualities to improve Ghana’s economic fortunes.

“NDC record in office was made clear. If there are any aspects you doubt, we can talk about it. From fiscal management you know where we ended the year with 6.1, forget about 9.3, 10.3. It was a lie and we challenged it," Terkper said.

“The International Monetary Fund (IMF) corrected it and we showed you the deficit the debt fiscal performance so I am saying the manifesto is based on performance,” he added.

As Ghanaians gear up to head to the polls in the upcoming December elections, the two major political parties have compared their respective track records and are presenting their policies before the citizens in a bid to convince them for their vote.
