Eric Appiah-Adjei, a communication team member with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has renamed the National Builders Corps (NaBCO) as Nana Addo and Bawumia Corruption.

The communication officer is alleging that NaBCO is going to be used as an avenue by President Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to engage in corrupt activities.

Although government has explained that NaBCO was initiated to employ some 100, 000 graduates in seven different modules, the NDC communicator has rubbished the claims insisting that, the initiative will be used for corrupt practices.

He appeared on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm hosted by Kwame Tutu today [Thursday]. ‘’The NaBCo created is Nana Addo and Bawumia Corruption Organization.

It is another create, loot and share created at the presidency. The corruption that is going to be recorded under this initiative will be unprecedented.’’ He alleged.

He accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of scrapping the Paid Internship Module developed by the former NDC government under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), so they can use the Builders Corps to steal from the state.

He challenged President Akufo-Addo to use his ministers as beneficiaries for the nation builders’ initiative instead of insulting Ghanaians with NaBCO. The Nation Builders Corps (NaBCO) is a government initiative aimed at addressing graduate unemployment in Ghana.

The scheme will this year employ 100,000 graduates under seven modules; namely, Educate Ghana, Heal Ghana, Feed Ghana, Revenue Ghana, Digitize Ghana, Civic Ghana and Enterprise Ghana.

Placement in the NaBCO will last for a period of 3 years under a stipend of GH¢700 every month. The NaBCO is opened to all Ghanaians who have discharged their national service obligations.
