Over 600 exhibitors are expected to participate in this year’s edition of the Ghana International Trade Fair, the Head of Exhibition and Marketing of the Ghana Trade Fair Company has said.
The exhibitors will be drawn from several parts of Ghana as well as outside the shores of the country.
It is quite interesting to note that, this year’s edition of the event will be held up North in the capital of the Northern Region of Ghana, Tamale under the theme, ‘Value Addition: Trading Globally’.
This is in line with the Akufo-Addo-led government’s industrialization policy, aimed at simultaneously shedding light on all parts of the country in the developmental process.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb, Mr Asamoah Baffour allayed fears of low patronage and challenges which may be associated with the change in venue this year.
He further indicated that adequate interventions have been put in place to inure to the benefit of exhibitors.
“This year’s edition of the Ghana International Tarde Fair 2020 is special because we’ve chosen Value Addition: Trading Globally. We normally align ourselves with the government intervention programmes. So what we see is that before we can idustrialise we need to add value…This year we are expecting over 600 exhibitors both local and foreign, that is our expectation… ” Mr Baffour noted.
Adding that, “so far we’re not facing any challenges, we’ve done our feasibility studies, research and done the preparations, logistics, haulage, how we’re transporting stuff from office to Tamale, we’ve done all of that. So far so good.
He further called on other concerned stakeholders to help support the course geared at putting Ghanaian businesses at the global level.
The week-long fair will take place at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale from February 27 through to March 8, 2020.
