Patronize made in Ghana rice to promote food security - Aglow

Dr Mrs Dorothy Danso, the National President of Aglow International has called on women to include made in Ghana rice in their homemade diets to help increase patronage of the locally grown grain.

She said increased patronage of the rice would encourage farmers produce more and hence bring about food security in the nation.

The Aglow President made this call over the weekend during the Aglow National Thanksgiving Service held in Accra.

The event dubbed, “Aforebo Kese” centered on the theme, “Oh God, Ghana will praise you more and more- Psalm 71:14b”

The service was graced by various government officials including Mrs Cynthia Morrison, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Madam Jean Adukwei Mensa, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, among others

Dr Danso said another way of promoting food security in the nation was for citizens to engage in backyard farming, as such she urged all women to play a major role in the area of such agricultural activity.

She said even though the plans of humans sometimes do not end up the way they preferred, they were to always show appreciation to God because He alone knew what was best for them.

She quoted from 1 Thessalonians 5:18 saying, “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

The Gender Minister on her part entreated citizens to let go of any form of bitterness stored up in them.

She said letting go off bitterness was a major tool to allow one attract God’s blessings.

“Probably someone has rewarded you badly for a good act you did him or her. As such, you’re bitter and don’t want to help anyone ever again. Let go and allow God to handle it. It’s better to receive God’s reward than man’s praises,” she added.

The event ended in a prayer and declaration towards the December 2020 elections, for peace, prosperity and stability in the country.

Also, there were several performances by participants from the the 16 regions of Ghana.
