Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has been named the Minister of Finance-designate in the newly announced ministerial list by President John Dramani Mahama.
He previously served as Deputy Minister for Finance in 2013 and was a member of the country’s Economic Management Team.
In addition to being a Ghanaian legislator, Dr. Forson is a fiscal economist, Chartered Accountant, tax practitioner, and entrepreneur with professional experience spanning two decades in both the private and public sectors.
Dr. Ato Forson has also served on several boards, including the Bank of Ghana and the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).
Regarding his educational background, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson earned his first degree in Accounting from South Bank University in London.
He holds a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Oxford, UK, and another Master of Science degree in Economics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana.
In September 2020, he obtained a PhD in Business and Management (Finance option) from KNUST.
He previously served as Managing Director of Forson Contracts Limited in the United Kingdom and as Chief Executive Officer of Omega Africa Holding Limited.
Throughout his career, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has been a strong advocate for good governance, transparency, and accountability.
He is widely respected in the Central Region and across Ghana for his dedication to serving his country and constituents.
