Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says the next NPP government will create special economic zones in border towns such as Aflao, Paga, and Elubo to enhance economic activity, increase exports, reduce smuggling, and create jobs.
He said this will be done through private-sector partnerships.
Dr Bawumia also said the party will establish an SME bank to address the financial needs of Small and Medium Enterprises.
All these will form part of his government’s concentration on business growth.
“We are going to establish an SME bank to meet the special financing needs of Small and Medium Entreprises which will employ over 80 percent of Ghanaians,” Dr. Bawumia reiterated.
These were contained in his presentation at the 2024 NPP manifesto launch in Takoradi.
