Olam Ghana, a leading supply chain manager of agri-products and one of Ghana’s biggest cocoa buying companies, has been recognised for its contribution to the country’s manufacturing industry at the Gold Coast Excellence Awards last week.

The Awards are designed to honour over 40 companies and individuals across different industries, from agriculture to automobile, with outstanding professional or industrial achievements.

Out of five nominees from the FMCG industry, Olam Ghana received the Excellence in Food Manufacturing Award.

In the same week, Olam Ghana was recognised by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) as the best customs taxpayer for 2018.

The award was presented at the GRA Awards Night held at Movenpick Hotel and was received by a delegation comprising Mr. Kenneth Antwi, National Head of HR, Mavis Amegah the Tax Officer, Pankaj Goyal, PCH, Rice and Raghav Mandhana, the Financial Controller at Olam.

A citation for the award read: “…You have consistently remained in the best customs taxpayer category over the past few years. In recognition of your significant quantum of payment, submission of correct declarations and no record of infractions, the Ghana Revenue Authority awards you, Olam Ghana Limited the Gold Category for the Customs Division for 2018”.

These latest accolades add to the company’s impressive awards bounty accumulated by the end of last year.

The company was adjudged ‘Best Agribusiness Company’ at the 17th Ghana Club 100 and ‘Best Company Employer in Ghana’ at the seventh Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) Industry and Quality Awards.

Olam Ghana is one of the country’s leading millers, with processing facilities including a state-of-art wheat flour mill, tomato mix processing and canning factory, and a biscuit manufacturing plant. Together, these operations produce some of the country’s most popular brands such as Perk, King Cracker, Royal Feast, Royal Aroma and Tasty Tom, and provide employment for over 1,500 Ghanaians.
