Asuogyaman gets classroom blocks

The Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Darfour has joined the District Chief Executive for Asuogyaman Assembly, Samuel Kwame Agyekum to commission some government projects in the area.

The projects include; six (6) unit classroom with ancillary facilities at Senchi Methodist School and two (2) unit classroom block at Anum Anglican School.

The two projects were funded by the District Development Fund and GETFUND respectively.

The District Chief Executive also donated 20 computers to the Senchi Methodist School and some desks to Anum Vocational Institute after inspecting some ongoing projects in the school.

Samuel Kwame Agyekum speaking to journalists said the six (6) classroom unit at the Senchi Methodist School was just barely 5 percent work done when he took over.

He noted that he took upon himself to complete the project for the fact that if completed it will help improve education in the community adding that the performance of the BECE results had increased from 67.9% to 73.1% since he assumed office.

Eric Kwakye Darfour, the Regional Minister on his side emphasized the importance of education and the nursery and kindergarten level where it all starts.

He added that the President has placed importance on education and that is why he introduced free education at the Senior High School level.

The Regional Minister thanked the Ministry of Education and GETFUND for the fast-track completion of the abandoned project and also tasked the community members to pay their levies.
