General Secretary for the ruling National Democratic Congress is calling on the Chief Justice, Theodore Georgina Wood to investigate Nana Obiri Boahen’s current standing in the legal profession.

Johnson Asiedu Nketiah says he doubts the Deputy General of the New Patriotic Party, Obiri-Boahen is still an active and practicing lawyer.

According to Asiedu Nketiah, “the way Nana Obiri-Boahen has been talking of late makes me wonder whether he is still a lawyer.”

He was responding to allegations by Nana Obiri-Boahen leading members of the NDC that invested with defunct DKM Micro finance have been fully reimbursed while non NDC depositors were paid paltry amount of their deposits.

Speaking to host of Abusua Nkomo, Kwame Adinkra, Asiedu Nketiah said ”Nana Obiri Boahen is a disgrace to the profession, sometimes I wonder whether he is still a lawyer.”

“I thought he had stopped practicing as a lawyer until you addressed him as such,” he added.

“The Chief Justice has tell Ghanaians whether Obiri-Boahen still has his name in the roll of lawyers in Ghana. Kwame, I don’t like to debate Obiri-Bohen for personal reasons.”

“In any case, is he still a Deputy General Secretary of the NPP…I thought he would resign after he was sidelined by the party.”

“Obiri-Boahen was supposed to have been promoted to the position of acting General Secretary after Kwabena Agyapong was suspended, but his subordinate John Boadu was brought in to act because the NPP doesn’t trust Obiri-Boahen’s competence and utterances,” he added.
