Iddrisu Takpayur, an elder brother of Ngabalan Takpayur, whose wife recently committed suicide in Techiman over his five year long absence from home, allegedly attacked and mercilessly beat up Mr. John Musah for leaking out his brother’s whereabouts.
Iddrisu, wanted by the police at Kpandai in the Northern region over another incident, was said to have attacked Mr. Musah who was on his way to his farm at the weekend and bolted after the act.
Briefing newsmen in Techiman, Mr. Musah said he was on his way to the farm when Iddrisu met him and questioned him (Musah) why he leaked the contents of a letter his brother had sent to his family from Italy to the media.
He said before he could utter a word of explanation, Iddrisu pounced on him and gave him a severe beating.
Mr. Musah said he returned home and reported the matter to the Police but Iddrisu managed to escape before the Police could arrest him.
It will be recalled that the fugitive, Ngabalan Takpayur, an NDC activist at Kpandai, was declared wanted by the Police for allegedly supplying guns to some youth to cause mayhem in the run-up to the 2008 general election in the area.
He was mentioned by some arrested youth of the NDC as the source of the guns found on them.
Ngabalan escaped from the country and recently he wrote a letter to his family that he was in Italy.
Meanwhile, the youth who were jailed in connection with the guns have completed their sentences and residing at Kpandai.**
