That same day, the police in a swoop, picked up a number of people for screening, in the hope that they could rearrest the escapees as well as the members of the gang who shot and killed the officer.
Day 2: On Monday, a day after the raid and the killing, a police officer told Joy News the slain officer was hiding in his vehicle when he was hit. The vehicle had broken down.
The wife of the late police officer narrated how the news was broken to her in a Joy News interview.
The policemen at the Kwabenya Police Station remained defiant, insisting they were not perturbed by the attack and the unfortunate killing of their supervisor.
Security experts warned that attacks on the police would continue unless something drastic is done about police operations.
