The Holy Rosary Catholic Church at Adenta has organised an awareness lecture on terrorist threats on Catholic Churches in Ghana.

The programme was in reaction to the world-wide threats on Catholic Churches including; the recent arrest of a terrorist who was wielding a revolver at the Hamile Catholic Church in the Upper West Region.

The Adentan District Police Commander, Superintendent Samuel Odame reminded the congregation to try as much as possible to remain calm and exit the church premises in the presence of strangers.

To avoid any stampede, in an event of attacks, he called on congregants to widely open the main doors.

Commander Odame urged them to step up their observation and vigilance as most of the terrorists looked jittery, nervous and may be sweating profusely.

He called on Church members not to struggle with suspecting terrorists, but cunningly invite the police for their arrest.

Commander Odame recommended to Churches to engage private security during major occasions and gave out some emergency police numbers of 191, 18555 or 0299200000 to be used to draw their attention.

He called for the installation of Close-Circuit Television Cameras (CCTV)in churches to be able to observe all people entering their premises.

He called on the congregation to off-load from the Google an application known as 'BODA' that could be used to identify how closed a perpetrator was to a defenseless person, and would appropriately notify persons who logged on the same platform.

He recommended the searching of all hand bags and vehicles entering church premises

The lecture was chaired by Rev Father Dr. Cletus Kwame Forson, the Parish Priest of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Also in attendance were; the Police Detective Inspector Benjamin Eshun and Chief Inspector Charles Bedzra all from Adentan Divisional Police Command.
