A man believed to be in his 40’s has committed suicide by hanging himself on a tree in a farm at Obuotabiri mountains in the New Juaben South Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The deceased allegedly hanged himself with a leather belt tied to a tree branch having stood on stones he arranged beneath the tree.
The local farmers in the area say the deceased is not known, therefore suspect that he may come from Koforidua Township.
A witness Anthony Tetteh, told Kasapa News the deceased “is wearing a nice white shirt and Blue jeans”. He added” he looks very gentleman even if you look at his body you will see that he is not just an ordinary person”.
According to Tetteh they are surprised how the deceased managed to walk distance deep into the farm to hang himself.
Meanwhile, police personnel has been dispatched to the scene to retrieve the body for investigations to commence. – Kojo Ansah
