National Organizer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kofi Adams in his assessment of Akufo-Addo’s government has concluded that the government is deliberately destroying existing structures for their personal gains.

According to him, Akufo-Addo’s government is intentionally creating another bureaucratic structure with the Free Senior High School policy in order to award contracts to their cronies at the national level, crippling local business where the schools are located.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Kofi Adams asserted the 70 percent of the Free SHS program which is being handled by the Ministry of Education is crippling the existing structures which are located in the various secondary schools.

Thus, it is needless according to Kofi Adams for the Akufo-Addo government to set up bureaucratic system to see to the running of the Free SHS program while the schools have existing structures which see to the effective management of the school feeding.

“We should be worried about how this government is using our money in the education sector . . . it is true that we have given this government a mandate of 4 years, but that does not mean that if it is doing something wrong we should keep quiet especially in the education sector. If our education is destroyed today, we will suffer for it in the future and so matters of education are not for jokes”, he bemoaned.

In reference to creating another bureaucratic system, Kofi Adams mentioned the establishment of the Nation Builders Corps as not necessary as there is existing youth structure called Youth Employment Authority which could have been empowered to roll out this program.

“The government has again created another bureaucratic structure called Nation Builders Corps while we have Youth Employment Authority; the Authority could have been given additional resources to run such program to cover the youth who have graduated from Tertiary education”, he stressed.

He asserted the NPP government created such platforms with the intention to create an environment to do their own thing without being guided by the laws of the existing structures.
