France has congratulated President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo for his electoral victory in the December 7 polls.
A statement issued by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs lauded Ghana's democracy and also applauded outgoing president John Mahama.
It added that France hoped to expand its partnership with Ghana, which has intensified in recent years.
Mr Akufo-Addo beat the sitting president John Mahama and five other candidates by securing 53.85 per cent of valid votes to become Ghana’s fifth president in the Fourth Republic.
