GaDangmes In UK happy With Accra Major Nomination

The GaDangme community in the United Kingdom has commended President John Agyekum Kufuor for nominating Mr Adjiri Blankson for the position of chief executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly. It has also sent a message of goodwill to Mr Blankson on his nomination and expressed the optimism that he would receive the requisite support of the members of the assembly to enable him to assume that august office.

?We have no doubt that Mr Blankson would be confirmed and so wish to welcome him to his new office,? the group stressed. The commendation was contained in a statement issued on behalf of the group by Mr Ade Sawyerr, an executive member. The group acknowledged the enormity of the problems awaiting the nominee, especially so given the deterioration of affairs in the metropolis in the run-up to the change.

?Accra is not only our national capital but also our main commercial and industrial city. It has many problems: sanitation, urban congestion, traffic gridlocks, indiscriminate property development, poor drainage, etc. It has a great potential in income generation and tourism?, the group noted.

It, however, expressed the hope that with Mr Blankson?s immense capacity for hard work, selflessness and his vision and disposition as a team player, he would be able to tackle and resolve these problems and thus improve the conditions of life for the millions of people inhabiting the metropolis.
