On March 27, 2004, Philadelphia, PA -- The Ghanaian Association of Delaware Valley held their Annual Independence Day Dinner Dance in Philadelphia. The theme for this year's event of "Culture, Language and Identity" "was addressed in a thoughtful speech by Professor Abena Busia, daughter of Prime Minister Kofi Abrefa Busia, leader of Ghana's 2nd Republic. This event was also a fundraiser for the future construction of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Center for Sickle Cell Disease in Kumasi, Ghana.
Among the attendees were International Sports Hall of Famer, Dr. Kwaku Ohene-Frempong of Chidren's Hospital of Philadelphia and Mr. Charles Nimmo N-Mensah aka Ghanaweb.com's award-winning cameraman.
