IGP assures Akufo-Addo of police support

Inspector General of Police (IGP) John Kudalor has paid a courtesy call on President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to assure him of his support during his tenure of office.

The IGP, during his visit on Monday December 12, also congratulated Mr Akufo-Addo for his electoral victory.

“On my own behalf and that of the police administration, we are here this afternoon to congratulate you on your victory won on 7 December, 2016 and also to assure you that as a police institution, we are not going to fail in our responsibility to the government of the day come 7 January and also the good people of this country. We shall continue to be professional, very transparent, very patriotic, and loyal to the state and for that matter the government of the day,” he stated.

“Again, I wanted to see the security arrangements as I have directed since the day you were declared winner, whether it comes to what your security details want and also whether you are comfortable with it. Once again, congratulations on the victory you won and be rest assured that we will ensure the security of this state. We will support you throughout the inauguration and from there be at your service particularly and to the service of the people of this country.”

Nana Akufo-Addo, in his response, pledged to make the security of the people of Ghana his topmost priority.

He also promised the IGP he had no agenda to witch-hunt any officer, emphasising that he bore no grudge against any personnel.
