Flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has described President Mahama and his appointees as a bunch of confused people who lack the requisite competency to expand the economy and solve the numerous socio-economic problems facing Ghanaians.

He noted that at the recent manifesto launch of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Sunyani, there were claims by some party officials that President Mahama did not know anything about the document while others said he was given a copy not long before and might have just read through it.

These inconsistencies, according to Nana Addo, also run counter to the assertion by the president that he was directly involved in the drafting of the manifesto and that he was the brain behind the major policies in it.

“What happened in Sunyani is another testimony that eight years of Mills/Mahama administration have been full of confusion and a government that does not have focus and clear-cut solutions to problems Ghanaians are facing.”

The NPP flag bearer has therefore, asked Ghanaians to bid President Mahama ‘bye bye’ by voting massively for him (Nana Akufo-Addo) and all NPP parliamentary candidates to form the next government and bring some hope to Ghanaians.

“We have the men with sincere hearts to turn the economy around. We in the NPP have the solutions to the socio-economic problems facing Ghana and we will not disappoint Ghanaians,” he assured, stressing that all those promises that he had made are not just rhetoric but things that he had assessed very critically and would be able to deliver for Ghanaians to have some respite.

Nana Akufo-Addo made these remarks at Kasoa on Sunday when he graced the campaign launch of the NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Awutu Senya East in the Central Region, Mavis Hawa Koomson – who is also the NPP parliamentary candidate for 2016.

Nana Akufo-Addo charged party supporters not to be complacent and do effective door-to-door campaign and tell Ghanaians the need to vote out President Mahama and bring in an Akufo-Addo government.

“Enough is enough for this incompetent government because Ghanaians are tired of ‘dumsor,’ massive corruption, joblessness, high utility bills and high cost of living,” he said.

The first vice chairman of the NPP in the Central Region, Joe Donkor, said the people of the region had vowed to vote massively for the NPP because of the incompetence of the NDC government.

The NPP national youth organiser, Sammy Awuku, said the NDC’s 2016 manifesto is ‘cut and paste’ policies of previous NPP manifestoes, stressing that all that President Mahama has for the youth of this country is to import two million head pans and basins to be distributed freely to the youth of this country, just for their votes.

NPP MP for Effiduase/Asokore, Frank Boakye Agyen, asked party supporters to be very vigilant on the voting day and disallow any unknown person to cast a proxy vote.

Ms Hawa Koomson, who had massive endorsement from the people of Kasoa, said her aim was to construct an effective drainage system at Kasoa to help solve the perennial flooding problem.

She also promised to ensure that the youth at Kasoa get jobs during her next term in parliament; and promised to deliver 60% or more votes for the NPP and Nana Akufo-Addo on December 7.
