Security detail of the NPP Presidential Candidate had to react swiftly after spotting a man with sharp scissors amongst a thick crowd of supporters during a rally at Ahwiaa in the Kwabre East Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
The man, who was identified as Umar, was spotted by the private security of Nana Akufo-Addo. The security team reacted quickly by dispossessing him of the offensive weapon.
It’s not clear the motive behind the decision by the man to bring an offensive weapon to a gathering of enthusiastic party supporters.
He was however evasive as to the purpose for which the weapon was brought to the rally grounds.
Nana Akufo-Addo is on a four day tour to the Ashanti Region and is expected to leave on Saturday.
