An aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate in the Tema Central Constituency, Yves Hanson-Nortey is dolling out one car each to every delegate.

The move which has been dubbed one delegate, one uber is expected to be run as a work pay and own it scheme.

Confirming the move, the aspirant disclosed that it is a way of empowering polling station executives with jobs.

“It’s a work pay and own programme designed to empower our polling station executives. It would also serve as a source of income for party activities”.

“Just like any work and pay programme for taxis. We are only using the ride hailing Apps because the revenue can be traced unlike the regular taxis.”

Some people on social media see this as a move to induce delegates to vote for him and therefore amounts to vote-buying which has been a canker to the democracy we practice in Ghana.

On her part, Afia Akoto who is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) believes that it’s not a feasible move by the MP aspirant.

Reacting to the post she said “still not achievable”.

The Keenly contested seat is being contested by Mr Charles Forson, Mr Yves Nii Noi Hanson Nortey and Mr Ramseyer Agyemang Prempeh all trying to unseat the incumbent MP, Mr Kofi Brako.
