Samira Bawumia, the wife of opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) vice-presidential candidate, Mahamudu Bawumia, has begun a campaign of the Eastern Region as she seeks to neutralise any gains made by governing National Democratic Congress flag bearer John Dramani Mahama, who is campaigning in the region.
As part of her strategy, Samira Bawumia will make stops at all the constituencies President Mahama visits during his tour.
Speaking at the Kade constituency on Wednesday October 26, she called on the Muslim community to rally behind the NPP because the party had good plans to develop the Zongos.
“Action speaks louder than words. The NDC claims to love people in the Zongos, but what have they done for you since they won power?” she asked.
“I’m here because of you. The NPP has good plans for the Zongo community. Unlike the governing NDC, we have well thought-out policies to improve the lives of people in the Zongos. We are going to establish the Zongo Development Fund and we will build more Islamic and English schools.”
