Contrary to claims that the government is doing little in terms of employment in the area of Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA), at least, 100 people have received their appointment letters to work as auxiliary and permanent staff under the Agency in the Ashanti Region.

Ashanti Regional Director of CWSA, Mr. Francis Kwasi Enu who took journalists around to some stations in the region revealed plans by the government to creating more jobs for the youth in respect of water and sanitation.

"The government has provided GHS102m to create jobs and we shall use it to achieve the purpose", the Regional Director assured at the back of allegations that Chief Executive of CWSA, Ing. Wolanyo Siabi is lying to the government to use the amount to create jobs.

According to the leadership of Association of Small Towns’ Water Supply Systems – Ghana, the CEO is lying to the government that he wants to create 460 jobs for government in the rural water setting, raise GHS102m for government by 2020 and push rural water systems under PURC regulations .

The Association in a statement said, it has observed with a shock, how the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) is deliberately masterminding a serious national water crisis to create water security threat in Ghana so as to clandestinely win government support and action to reverse all gains made in rural water delivery.

"The Association is fully awake to these tricks to intentionally create an alarming description of community ineffectiveness in water production and distribution in the rural areas as a cover to appeal for some work for his defunct CWSA staff", Mr. Issah Ahmedn, Secretary of the Association signed.
