Two young women have been found dead in a thicket at Abrepo in Kumasi in what is suspected to be a murder case.

Bodies of the two women believed to be between 25 and 30 years, were recovered Thursday in different positions near Samad Hotel with used condoms around the scene and unused ones in their bags.

One of them, whose pant was removed to the knee level, was found in what is popularly referred to as “doggy position” with her stomach and face lying flat on the ground.

The second woman was found lying almost supine without panties.

The other lady had her ‘stretch’ trousers stripped to the thigh region, exposing her beads. She had no panties on.

While some residents suspect the two were prostitutes, others were of the view they were sexually assaulted and murdered at the scene.

No visible marks of assault were found on the two women whose identities have not been established yet.

Their bodies have been removed from the scene by the Suame Police and deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue.

The Suame District Police have declined comment on the alleged homicide. Officials at the Regional Police Command say though they have heard about the case, it has not officially been brought to their attention

Assembly Man for Kokoso Electoral Area, Francis Amoako Asante, told told 3news.com Thursday that the incident was the first of such to occur in the community

“This is the first time such incident has occurred here and it is very disturbing. We do not know the women as they do not live anywhere here,” Mr Asante explained

The assembly member also told 3news.com it is too early to say the women are commercial sex workers.

“We found used condoms on the scene of the incident and some condoms in their bags when we searched their bags. But we cannot say they are commercial sex workers although we don’t know them,” Mr Amoako Asante said.

Checks by 3news.com indicated the Suame District Police Command is investigating the case to establish what might have caused the death of the two women.
