Some aggrieved staff of Capital Bank which was closed down by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) are demanding provident and severance packages from the Central Bank.

The former staff of Capital bank explained that they have not been given what is due them after the collapse of the bank.

Bank of Ghana in August 2017 revoked the license of two commercial banks – UT Bank and Capital Bank.

The action has been triggered by the inability of the two banks to turn around their negative capital adequacy position which has lingered on for some time now.

In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, spokesperson for the aggrieved staff, Philip Yawson, mentioned that they are entitled to service benefit, providence fund as well as other severance packages.

He added that some of the benefits due them are corporate or organizational welfare contributions which they are entitled to. According to them, they are yet to receive these benefits and packages.
