Alex Mould denies snubbing Mahama

The financial and energy expert, Mr Alex Mould has refuted claims that he had rejected an offer to be the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2020 flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

The former Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation has in recent news publications been widely tipped to partner former President Mahama for the 2020 elections due to his grasp of the economy and strong leadership skills.

But a statement issued by an aide to Mr Mould, Onasis Kobby who doubles as the Deputy Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer stated no meeting of that sort had happened.

"We state unequivocally that Mr Mould has not had any meeting with Former President Mahama or any of his close associates to discuss the possibility of him becoming a running mate to the Presidential hopeful, come 7th January, 2021" it said.

The statement said Mr Alex Mould would continue to serve the party and "ever ready to serve in any capacity in the reorganization of the umbrella party."

IGNORE RUMOURS, I HAVE NOT SNUBBED MAHAMA’S RUNNING MATE SLOT - ALEX MOULD

The attention of the Office of Alex Mould; former Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation has been drawn to news portal publications and front page story of The New Publisher newspaper of Friday 2nd August, 2019 with the caption “we don’t want to be your running mate” in which he was mentioned as having turned down the offer to be the running mate of National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2020 Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

We state unequivocally that Mr Mould has not had any meeting with Former President Mahama or any of his close associates to discuss the possibility of him becoming a running mate to the Presidential hopeful, come 7th January, 2021.

We are well aware of the anger directed at the NPP Government following the suspension of the PDS concession and subsequent exposure of what appears to be grand scheme of possible stealing from the good people of Ghana. It is clear this is a diversionary tactic by the pro government newspapers to distract the citizens of the country from following the 2nd largest state capture in the history of Ghana. Only second to the state capture involving Aker and related to reducing the people of Ghana’s equity stake in the AGM Block from 49% to less than 25%.

Mr Mould will not relent in exposing the thievery and scamming the NPP is exerting on Ghanaians.

He will double step his efforts to work assiduously to help bring the NDC party into government .

The former GNPC Chief Executive will continuously serve and ever ready to serve in any capacity in the reorganization of the umbrella party.

That not said, let's bare in mind the choice of running mate shall be decided by H.E John Dramani Mahama in accordance with National Democratic Congress's constitution.

Thank You.

Onasis Kobby

Aide -Office of Alex Mould and Deputy Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer
