Asante Kotoko supporters chief Christopher Damenya nearly resigned from his post

Asante Kotoko SC National Supporters Council PRO, Osei Owusu has revealed that Christopher Damenya nearly resigned from his post as supporters leader.

The PRO made such wild revelation in relation to the notion that Christopher Damenya(Chairman of the NCC) has targeted to oust Dr Kwame Kyei as Executive Chairman of the club.

“Christopher Damenya nearly resigned as chairman because he was accused of plotting to oust Dr. Kwame Kyei," he told Fox FM in Kumasi.

Damenya has blamed Dr. Kyei for not welcoming their idea of helping the club financially to renew the contract of Songné Yacouba.

Yacouba's contract expired a fortnight ago and has since left the club.

The renowned businessman was elected to the lead the National Supporters Group in November 2019 having beaten Solomon Ofosu Oware.

The supporters leadership are willing to help pay a fine imposed on the club by FIFA but Dr. Kyei has refused to meet them since Monday.

Asante Kotoko have been ordered to pay an amount of $240,000 to Espérance de Tunis for illegally signing their player Emmanuel Clottey in 2015.
