The Bawku Central Member of Parliament, Mahama Ayariga says he’ll file at the Appeal Court today to stop his ongoing prosecution at the High Court.
Mr Ayariga, a Harvard trained lawyer had filed a motion claiming Mr Amidu was not fit to lead the case because he is above retirement age.
The Economic and Financial Crime Court presided over by Justice Afia Serwaa Asare Botwe, yesterday (Monday) dismissed an application by Mahama Ayariga, challenging the qualification or otherwise of the Special Prosecutor, Mr. Martin Amidu, to bring charges against him based on the fact that he is not a legitimate holder of the Office of Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Ghana.
Mr Ayariga’s lawyer, James Agalga says they will fight that ruling at the Appeal Court.
