Ghana defender Baba Rahman played his first full game for Schalke this season in their 2-1 defeat to Zenit St. Petersburg in a club friendly on Sunday.
The 24-year-old has not played since featuring in Schalke’s 2-1 defeat to Wolfsburg in September.
Schalke coach Domenico Tedesco used the friendly in Russia to give some precious game time to some of his players.
With most of his first team regulars away on national team duty, Schalke paraded a somewhat under par side for the game.
Mathias Kravyvitter put the hosts ahead after just six minutes into the game.
Schalke hit back with Steven Skryzbski scoring the equalizer 10 minutes to the end of the first half.
The German giants however conceded a penalty late in the game which was converted by Ozdoyev to hand Zenit the win.
