Former Asante Kotoko coach Bashir Hayford has labelled Ghanaian duo Harrison Afful and Samuel Inkoom as ‘ungrateful’ players after putting his job on the line for them.

The tough-talking Ebusua Dwarfs trainer stressed that he risked his job by fielding the two players when he was Kotoko coach after the duo were rejected by the club’s top hierarchy.

He says the club’s management kicked against the two players for being pocket-size in nature but says he stood his ground to give them a career lift.

However, the former Ashanti Gold coach says the two players have neglected him after becoming relatively successful in their careers.

“Samuel Inkoom and Harrison Afful were depending on me for daily bread before being accepted by Kotoko. But none of them has given me a gift,” he told Radio Silver.

Afful, who currently plays for Major Soccer League side Columbus Crew, spent two-years at Kotoko between 2007-9 while unattached Samuel Inkoom spent a season at the club
