Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has escaped unhurt after his convoy was involved in an accident at Asemasa near Beposo in the Western Region.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia was returning from some activities in the Western Region to Accra when the incident occurred.
An Urvan Bus reportedly ran into one of the vehicles in the convoy resulting in the accident.
The driver of the Urvan bus has been confirmed dead.
Some other passengers and security persons who are injured have been conveyed to the Cape Coast Regional Hospital and are said to be responding to treatment.
Dr. Bawumia has however sent his thoughts and prayers to family of the deceased.
“Vice President Bawumia’s thoughts and prayers are with the injured and family of the deceased”, Dr. Bawumia’s spokesperson Gideon Boako said in a statement.
