CETAG called off the strike last week following the intervention of the National Labour Commission
Members of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) have resumed work today, Monday, 10 December 2018 after they called off their strike.
The teachers have been protesting against the delay in payment of their interim market premium as well as book and research allowances.
They called off the strike last week following the intervention of the National Labour Commission (NLC).
The NLC ordered the parties involved in the negotiations to resolve the prolonged impasse within 14 working days, beginning today, Monday December 10.
The National Secretary of CETAG, Nathan Ohene Gyan, in a statement, said:
“We have been very clear and quite explicit in our language in what is expected of the two parties. We believe in the rule of law and the word that was given by the Commission is well with us."
