The National Women's Organizer of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kate Gyamfuah has stated that deception will keep the country's main opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC) in perpetual opposition.

According to her, the NDC government in 2016 put it in their Green Book that they had constructed roads in the country, but many of the roads cited were still in deplorable shape.

Under the circumstance, she said Ghanaians will not take the opposition serious in the impending 2020 general elections.

She made the above controversial statement at the launch of "NPP Women's Maidens" at Bogoso in the Prestea-Huni Valley Constituency in the Western Region.

The program was primarily organized to solicit for more votes for the party ahead of 2020 general elections.

Speaking under the theme, "MOBILIZING AND EQUIPPING WOMEN FOR VICTORY 2020", the National Women Organiser bemoaned the poor road network linking Bogoso and other communities.

She disclosed that her expectation was that she was going to pass through motorable road when she was coming from Accra.

"I thought I was going to use a motorable road network as the John Mahama-led administration pictured to Ghanaians that all roads in the Western Region had been constructed", she stated.

She emphasized that the NDC's Green Book was a mirage, a deception because the roads they claimed they did were nowhere to be found.

In this regard, she stated that "It's going to keep the NDC in perpetual opposition.

She nonetheless cautioned against complacency "We must work hard to retain power for the party come 2020".

Consequently, the National Women Organiser urged all Constituency Women Organizers, their Deputies and all those at the event, to remain resolute and continue to propagate the gospel of governments achievements to Ghanaians.

She said every woman must turn herself into a Samarian woman, and start winning souls for the party.

She therefore charged all MPs and MMDCEs to assist their women organizers for them to continue to work for the party.

She believes, NPP must win 80% of the popular votes looking at the work done by Nana Addo's government.

She was also not enthused on some attitudes demonstrated by some government appointees who do not open their doors to the party women organizers especially at the local level.

On the other hand, she said the Women Organizers must respect their MPs, MMDCEs and the Party Executives, for she believes by so doing, each and everyone would never regret for joining the party.

She thanked the Western Regional Women Organiser, Abena Kwallah for the initiative and also thanked the women in the party who supported Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to win the 2016 general elections.

On her part, the Member of Parliament for Prestea Huni-Valley who is also the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mrs. Barbara Oteng-Gyasi commended President Akufo-Addo for doing a lot for women in the country.

She said President Akufo-Addo has appointed a lot of women into his government to hold sensitive positions like the first-ever Chief of Staff, first-ever female Secretary to Cabinet and also Chief Justice among others.

She noted that women played a critical role in 2016 general elections, adding, that they would continue to play their role come 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.

The MP stated that, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has done a lot for Ghanaians by reducing unemployment rate through Nation Builders Corps (NABCO), rolling out Free Senior High School which has created both direct and indirect employment, Planting for food and jobs, Planting for Export and Rural development, Rearing for food and jobs, increasing capitation grants among others.

She ended her speech by saying all hands must be on deck for NPP to win the 2020 general elections, therefore, "we must all play our parts".

On his part, the Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, who is also an MP for Takoradi in his speech, hailed the Western Regional Women Organiser for the initiative, adding that she did same in 2000 for the party.

He said "Abena Kwallah in 2000 is the same Abena Kwallah come 2020, and praised the women's wing for the good work that they were doing to support the party".

Hon Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah was emphatic that the party was winning Ellembelle, Amanfi Central, Wassa East and Amenfi West which are currently being held by the NDC.

He revealed that, Western Region made 13,000 admissions in last year during the free Senior High School, but currently the admission for this year was 27,000 and all these people including their parents were going to vote for NPP in 2020 elections.
