The various vigilante groups associated with the opposition New Patriotic Party will be enrolled with the National Security, a bank roller of the governing party has hinted.
According to Kennedy Agyapong, the youth groups are recognised within the structures of the New Patriotic Party and must be protected, now that they are in power.
One of the groups, Delta Force, has come under public scrutiny following their attack on the Ashanti regional security coordinator. Before then, another group the Invisible force had been blamed for many atrocities on innocent citizens since the party won the 2016 elections.
Many Ghanaians have called for the disbandment of the groups but the party has often justified their existence.
Speaking on the matter, the Assin Central MP said he is in support of the actions of the groups.
“The vigilante groups are recognized in the party and so I will personally make sure they are recruited into national security. If it is work that they need, we will gladly employ them to continue working for Ghana.
“Any of the Invincible Forces and Delta Forces who have no work should come to me today, we will give them work,” Agyapong told Adom FM Tuesday.
