English born Ghanaian forward Eddie Nketiah could join Bundesliga side Augsburg on loan for the rest of the season before the window closes tonight.
According to football.london, barring any last-minute hitches, the Arsenal frontman will join Augsburg before the deadline passes.
Nketiah is expected to join the Germans to gain more play time but the English giants have ruled out an option to sell the player in the summer.
The 19-year-old has been involved in Unai Emery's first team squad on five occasions this season, making two Europa League appearances and one game each in the Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
Arsenal are already seeing the benefits of the Bundesliga’s commitment to youth development after sending Reiss Nelson to spend a season with Hoffenheim.
The winger, 19, has scored six goals in 13 league appearances, earning his first call-up to the England Under-21 side.
“Some Bundesliga clubs are very interesting for us and the way [Nelson] could make an impact at Hoffenheim was by starting on the bench but then scoring immediately,” academy chief Per Mertesacker said in December.
Eddie Nketiah is looking at following in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson.
