Egypt's national team coach has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the country's football federation.

According to the Egyptian Football Association, Hossam el-Badry was diagnosed with COVID-19 after his daughter tested positive earlier this month. According to the statement, he has been isolated at his residence.

Egypt qualified for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations last month and is aiming for the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar. Gabon, Angola, and Libya will be in Group F with the record seven-time African champions.

The 61-year-old el-Badry, who was appointed Egypt's national team coach in 2019, is the latest player or coach to test positive for the virus on the national team.

Mohamed Elshenawy, the national team goalkeeper and goalkeeper for Cairo's Al-Ahly soccer club, tested positive earlier this month and was forced to miss a game against local rival Zamalek.
