The Ghana Premier League kicked off on Sunday with Yahaya Mohammed and Emmanuel Ocran announcing their readiness for the season while Jonah Attoquaye silenced Hearts of Oak fans in Accra with a sublime finish.

Yahaya Mohammed powered Aduana Stars to a 4-0 finish over visiting Inter Allies while Ocran scored twice and provided an assist in Dreams FC’s 4-1 win over King Faisal.

In a 3-4-3 system, FoitballMadeInGhana.Com brings you the Best XI after the opening day fixtures of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League.

Ferdinand Sabi Acquah (GK) – WAFA: The young goalkeeper emerged the shot stopper of the week after denying Diawesie Taylor the chance to score on several occasions. Sabi pulled 6 brilliant saves and ensured his side went away to Sogakope with all three points. His outstanding performance earned him the player of the match award.

Philip Osei – Medeama SC: Philip was in amazing form against Ebusua Dwarfs. He was on the score sheet for the visitors in their 3-1 win over the Crabs. He emerged the player of the match as well.

Ahmed Adams – Berekum Chelsea: Adams was a pillar in defence for the visitors as they shocked giants Accra Hearts of Oak in the league opener. He stopped their dangerous attacks and made no mistake in clearing his back. He was great on the day.

Mubarak Yusif – AshGold: Yusif was the man of the game after staging a flawless show. He registered the opener for the Miners and ended up winning the player of the game. His aggression and quick play at the back denied Olympics from finding the back of the net.

Richard Boadu – Medeama SC: Boadu was the key man in midfield for the visitors. He orchestrated most of their attacks and was able to block the dangers from the home side. He was a delight to watch and he forced applauds from the fans.

Mudasiru Salifu – Asante Kotoko: The Porcupine Warriors generally did not have a wonderful day as many expected them to bully XI Wonders. But Mudasiru was a standout. His performance was incredible as he provided many goal scoring opportunities for Kotoko but for the goalkeeping brilliance of John Moosie who saved the visitors from conceding more goals.

Agyenim Boateng – Medeama SC: Boateng combined excellently with Boadu to spell doom for Dwarfs. He provided all the assists for the three goals scored by Medeama SC. Many were even shocked he couldn’t win the player of the game.

Jeffrey Degorl – Legon Cities FC: Emerging the MVP in a clash with Liberty Professionals which ended 2-2 means a lot, hence Jeffrey was a standout performer. He scored the second goal for Legon Cities FC in a beautiful style, forcing the home fans to salute him.

Jonah Attoquaye – Berekum Chelsea: His beautiful strike in Accra sent Hearts of Oak to bed earlier than expected. He was too hot to handle by the Hearts defenders and emerged the ayer of the match after such a splendid outing.

Yahaya Mohammed – Aduana Stars: He scored the first hat trick of the season, provided an assist for his side’s 4th goal and emerged the man of the match.

Emmanuel Ocran – Dreams FC: Ocran scored twice and provided an assist for his side’s 4th goal against King Faisal. He was too hot to handle and caped his outing by winning the man of the match award.
