GHANASoccernet.com African Football editor Nuhu Adams has a lowdown on the performance of Ghanaian players in CAF's inter-clubs competition.

Nine players have progressed with their clubs to the quarter-final stage of the Champions League and Confederation Cup.

CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

There were four Ghanaians who featured for Horoya AC as they held 2016 winners Mamelodi Sundowns to a scoreless stalemate to advance to the quarterfinal for the first ever time.

Ocansey Mandela, Sebe Baffour Kyei and Brefo Mensah lasted the entire duration of the fixture for the Guinean giants on Tuesday.

Debutant Godfred Asante enjoyed 71 minutes before he was substituted.

ZESCO United bowed out of the competition after drawing 1-1 at home with Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel on Tuesday.

Adams Zikiru came on as a substitute in the 80th minute to contribute his bit for the Zambian champions.

Richard Sewu was brought on in the 90th minute when his side Mbabane Swallows went down 2-1 to Angolan outfit Primeiro de Agosto.

The defeat sends the eSwatini giants out of the continental showpiece.

Young midfielder Najeeb Abass was on the bench for TP Mazembe when they shared the spoils with Difaa El Jadida with a 1-1 scoreline.

CAF CONFEDERATION CUP

Rwanda side Rayon Sports made history on Wednesday as they made it out of the group stage for the first time in the competition following a 1-0 victory against Young Africans.

Former Bechem United, Dreams FC and Accra Young Wise midfielder Prosper Donkor saw all the minutes of the encounter.

Farouk Mohammed was in the thick of affairs for 90 minutes to aid Enyimba International FC as they secured a place in the quarter final after beating CARA Brazzaville by 1-0.

Goalkeeper Fatau Dauda was not named in the Enyimba FC squad.
